Femininity in ten gazes
Ten photographs chosen from all those submitted. Shown for sixteen days in an Italian café in Playa de San Juan, Alicante, with a printed catalogue.
The theme
We are looking for a personal view of femininity, understood broadly: the body, identity, everyday gestures, relationships, roles, memory, or its representation.
The interpretation of the theme is free and forms part of the assessment criteria. We are not looking for a definition: we are looking for ten different ways of seeing it.
The call is open to photographers of any gender, nationality and background, professional or amateur. The theme refers to the content of the work, not to the identity of the author.
How to enter
Send your photographs
One to three, through the online form. Light JPG files: at this stage they are only used for assessment. Entering costs nothing.
Wait until 16 November
A panel selects ten works by ten different authors. Only one photograph per participant is chosen. We write to you either way.
If selected, you print and deliver
Printing and mounting are at your expense, plus a €70 organisational contribution. The work must be in Alicante by 3 December.
Requirements for the selected work: print with the long side between 40 and 60 cm, mounted piece no larger than 70 × 70 cm, up to 5 kg, on a rigid support or framed, with the hanging system already fitted on the back.
No glass. For safety reasons, in a venue open to the public no mounting using glass is accepted. Acrylic is accepted.
No generative artificial intelligence. Post-production is limited to standard digital development adjustments.
What you get if selected
- Your work shown for sixteen days in a venue with daily footfall

- Your name on the poster, in the press and on the competition's social channels
- A public opening on Saturday 5 December, alongside the other artists
